You’ll really enjoy using this knife with it’s partially serrated blade. It was designed to work well and last a long time without unnecessary weight. It’s a barely there 3.5 ounces in the hand and when its fully opened the knife is a decent size at about 7 inches. The Blackout is solid black in color, making it an excellent knife to use under cover of darkness or just to keep on display in the home. It also comes with a removable stainless steel pocket clip. The blade on the knife is made of Sandvik 13C26 stainless steel and coated in tungsten DLC for some added strength and lasting edge. The handle is polyimide for its durability and light weight. The Locking Liner and the SpeedSafe patented assisted opening system are both featured in the Blackout knife. The Locking Liner will securely hold your knife blade in place when fully opened, while the SpeedSafe system will allow the user to open the blade using the thumb stud. Locking Liner Locks the blade into position after the blade is deployed. To release the locking liner simply press the spring loaded lock and the blade will easily fold back into the handle. SpeedSafe assists the user to smoothly open the knife with a manual push on the blade's thumb stud. The heart of the SpeedSafe system is its torsion bar. Closed, the torsion bar helps keep the knife closed, preventing it from being opened by "gravity." In order to open the knife, the user must apply manual pressure to the thumb stud to overcome the resistance of the torsion bar. After the blade is out of the handle, the torsion bar moves along its halfmoon track and takes over. The blade opens smoothly and locks into position, ready for use.,
