Stan from the Netherlands. My experiences with Myfishgear are in one
word, superb! Mr. Peterson thinks along very well concerning to
shipping costs and customs formalities. Communication is very good and
clear. Product is also great! (tent, Alps mountaineering ). Received the
tent yesterday without any delay, cannot wait to go on a trip and pitch
it even though it is winter. Just did a small test by pitching it in the
living room, my son loved it!

I called after hours, and Mr Peterson took my order on his cell phone, that's
what I call personal service. My Okuma reel is on it's way, a reel that the big
companies did not carry, but Russell found it no problem. If he does not carry
it, you don't need it! Nice to find a company you can rely on for a change, and

Some of the best service I have ever received. My product was not
available and within a few minutes of placing my order I received a call
letting me know it was not available. I was then given information and
links to similar products to choose from. I like personal service like
that and glad I didn't have to wait days to receive an e-mail to inform
me of the status of my order. Would definitely use again and recommend
to any one.

Myfishgear.com gives top notch service. I needed some fishing gear that
cannot be purchased off of the shelf where I live. I contacted several online
stores, but could not find someone who could get all of the items to me in the

My first pair of bifocal sunglasses (flying fisherman) are outstanding.
The bifocals aren't in the way at all. The lense tint is just right. I

Russell took great care of me, I thought I knew what I wanted until I we
talked and it became clear to me that what I ordered wasn't what I
needed (or wanted). I'm not new to deep-sea fishing but a little green
when it comes to buying equipment. Russell listened to me and made a
couple suggestions which I'm glad he did because otherwise I woud just
have a nice looking rod and reel that I couldn't really use hanging on
the wall. Now I have a setup that I can absolutely use - plus it looks
nice on the wall. OH, and MyFishGear.com prices were as low as I could
find anywhere, combine that with personal customer service... wow!
Thanks Russell! I will be using MyFishGear.com again. I am now the
proud owner of an Avet Gold HX 5/2 M.C. Now I can't wait to get out on
the water and actually use it... (practice casts in the backyard don't
really count).

The Ice fishing combo, Lake of the Woods 25" bait casting rod and reel

Bought a Penn 760L reel from this company. Made it here in time for Christmas. I had called to see if there was another reel I could get and could not get anyone on the phone line. Russ called me back later that evening. How can you beat that. The owner of the business calling you back. That is excellent customer service that you won't find in the large chain stores. MyFishgear.com actually had the better price, including the shipping.

I had been looking for a long time for a good pair of Sunglasses for early morning and dusk. My Maui Jim's and Serengeti were just to dark. I recently went on a fishing safari on Martha's Vineyard and it reawakened my love of fishing. I grew up fishing with my Father on the brackish Indian River in St. Lucie Fla. and on various lakes in Georgia. I had never been saltwater fishing and because my previous fishing equipment had been a bamboo pole and later a Zebco rod and reel I bought with top value stamps , I was starting out with zero knowledge. I did major research via google and ended up onmyfishgear.com. I found what I wanted but was vacillating on taking the plunge or not when Russell called me to ask if I had trouble on the site. He suggested since I was going to be fishing in Brooklyn and taking subways or buses I should get a two piece Fenwick rod instead of the one piece I was looking at. Great advice. He didn't try to get me to buy anything else (although I did find the tackle box I wanted here ) and was in no way condescending about my lack of knowledge on the subject of saltwater fishing. Instead he encouraged me to follow my instincts and go fishing. I corresponded with Russell several times during my transaction and he always got back to me promptly and with the same friendly manner. As a woman fishing in Brooklyn I need all the encouragement I can get, and I feel fortunate to have stumbled upon Russell's shop in the beginning of my journey back to fishing.

I once thought that great customer service was a thing of the past until I stumbled upon myfishgear.com while looking for the discontinued line of Tech Tackle miniature rods and reels. I was immediately greeted by Russell Peterson, the owner of myfishgear.com, with a warm, friendly voice as if he'd known me for years. Mr. Peterson was very knowledgeable about my product inquiry and said that he only had two of the Fin-Nor 103's left from the line. During our conversation Mr. Peterson mentioned that his wife had broken his Fin-Nor when she dropped it by accident. Despite his having several from the line in his personal collection and the broken Fin-Nor, he agreed to sell me both of the new ones when he could easily have kept one for himself as a replacement for the broken one he has in his office. He seemed genuinely happy to be of service and to try and find whatever else I needed from the line of miniature rod and reels. He even told me about a filet glove that he said would make a nice gift for any avid fisherman so I bought one for my Dad.....I'm sure he'll love it! Anyway, I just want to thank Mr. Peterson for his kind and generous nature in proving that indeed customer service is still very much alive. It was a pleasure doing business with myfishgear.com and I hope to make more purchases in the near future. I would highly recommend this site and Mr. Peterson to my best friend and any of my family members. The level of service is unequaled and I give Mr. Peterson 10 stars out of a possible 5!!!

In Finland the color of this bag is just impossible to find. This bag is great for my needs and it's the right size for my boat. The shipping cost was more than I expected, but the customer service was more than great. So the price is not a problem. Keep on going Russell!!!

Spent a lot of time researching Engel refrigerators/coolers. Pretty well covered the 'net. So I wind up finding this fishing equipment site that has the best price on the item I'm interested in. I call the site three times and it's busy and I didn't leave a message 'cause the phone system seemed faulty. Within 15 minutes I get a call from this Yankee sounding guy who wants to know how he can help. I tell him how and not only does he help, he's interested to know how to improve his site, throws in an item that I wanted that was not shown on his site and the deal is done. I get an e-mail instantly with all the tracking data and a separate thank you note. All the stuff arrives on time in good condition (I think he bribes UPS). If this guy keeps this up, he'll have to hire several hundred people to keep up with business!

He did amazing research and got back to me with alternatives that were in stock. This is a great website and looking forward to placing more orders with them. Great variety of boat cleaning supplies helped me to do a wonderful job cleaning the boat before putting it away for the winter.
